Hip Hop dance originated in the late 1970's, in the street corners of African-American and Latino neighborhoods.Kids used to bring out beat boxes and battle each other, using any kind of unorthodox moves.The hip hop music specialist Clive Campbell, started playing original beats at parties and the Bronx.As time advanced, simple breaking moves were not enough in hip hop dancing; moves became more aggressive in nature.Battles and showdowns between various gangs were settled by using new hip hop dance techniques.Hats off to Michael Jackson who raised the popularity of this genre, and took hip hop dancing to great heights.Nowadays the real hip hop dance happens in the underground hip hop music centers, present in almost every major city.
